@ Boot Key Harbor Marathon

Sunrise over Cowpens anchorage.
We are docked at Sombrero Dockside Marina. Richard and Jill on Finally, Mike and Darah on Wanderlust are on same dock  a few slips over. They come here every winter.

Burdine's Tiki Hut has a history. We stopped here for fuel and one of the best fish sandwiches and fries in the keys often on our sailboat.

Many bridges we passed on the trip down. We clear them if more than 22 ft. This one we read the tide board and use the extra 3-4 ft in the center. Be careful!

This was in Miami and was one of the many places we did not stop.

The book said this one was 24 so we cleared with out problem. Only had to wait on one bridge in Miami

Passed many boats heading South. Most sailboats would drift over to one side and allow a slow pass. Some Did not have radio on or were Canadian and did not understand?

Anchor in sand at a island we stopped at over night. Wonder what the history is?

Anchored out and dingy in for dinner at MM88 Grille. Good fish sandwich, Tourist prices$$Ouch!

Boot Key Harbor is almost full we saw a very few moorings with no one on them.

Susea has Dolphin watch and barks her head off when she sees them. Crab pots were everywhere in the ICW. Some were the color of the water, Duh!

Lots of Manatees in the warm water.

Tour of BootKey Harbor. It is very clean now and the place seems nicier than it was 9 years ago when I last visited.

Burdine's and Pablos' fuel dock are together on price $4.49 for diesel . We bought fuel from a truck at our dock last week for $3.64 @ Gal for Diesel. We burned 244 gals on the trip down of 511 miles. Running at 8 kts I feel we did good considering.

Sunset from our boat docked at Sombrero. Not as nice as Jekyll's but it is 70s and 80 during the day.

Takes all kind to fill up an anchorage. The boats in BKH are nicer than some wrecks people were living on in the past.

On the way down we saw little boats

And Big boats

Sunset at Boca Chita Key

Dock at Boca Chita Key we towed the dink all the way down.

This was a wall built for Mark Honeywell in the 30s He was going to develop the island and never did after his wife died of an accident on Boca Chita in 1935.

Nice tug we passed.

Susea is bored watching for crab pots and dolphins

Boot Key Harbor

Very big sailboat @ Palm Beach when we anchored in Lake Sylvia.

Dolphins use or wake to play. Susea goes bonkers when she sees them.

MM88 Restaurant. Good fish but $$$
