After our adventure we headed North via the ICW and many bridges in Ft. Lauderdale that we cleared at 22 ft. A few we had to wait on opening. At MM 1031 we anchored near the Lantana bridge on the South side in 7-8 ft near a restaurant , The Old Key Lime house http://oldkeylimehouse.com/ A normal June afternoon rain shower came and went while we were there. A quite anchorage Docked at Old Key Lime House. We anchored off the double boat ramps. There is a nice park across the street. Easy in and out. A walk around to the other side of the bridge is a city park with boat ramp. Huge Tiki hut marks Old Key Lime House. Double boat ramps and city park @ Lantana They seated us and the dog outside. On our cruise North to Jekyll Island from Marathon we used several anchorages and found some interesting free city docks. Here are a few noteworthy ones. Tarpon Basin is a good stop over anchorage with a free dingy dock. Going North exit the creek and head for marker R48. Turn in to basin before R48A stay near north side of basin. Close to shore we found 5-7 ft. On in towards anchored boats we found 7-9 ft and stayed to the north of city docks. Dingy dock @ Tarpon Bay The park is free for public use and has water, trash cans and electrical power for charging laptops, etc. A dumpster should be used that is near right side of City Office building. Locals said there are restrooms in the building. The park is a dog park. A public street is shown as dingy access to Publix. We did not try it as it is rocky and people were fishing from the site.  Very quiet anchorage The park was clean and the locals friendly Towing the 11 ft Boston Whaler A mangrove trail is to

A few trips to a spine doctor in Key West confirm that my problem is back. I consult with another dr. and we make plans to be in Georgia before end of June. We would love to stay at BB, Capt Larry the dockmaster is very good and helpful, but can't promise the slip as there is a huge waiting list. We will have to see. Sunset May 28 from Keys Fishery Grill What we enjoyed while at Banana Bay; The local happy hours at the various eateries. Sparky's was epescially good but a cab ride away. $5.00 anywhere on the island cab fares. Local Publix, CVS, Walgreens a bike ride away, of course Home Depot is across the street. The resort has a huge pool with tiki bar and nice hot tub. Free ice at the hotel Nice but old bathrooms that I never saw dirty. Walking the trails thru the gardens with all the tropical plants.
