We love the teak floored sundeck.

New impellers with Speedseal covers.

Port side aft. Has enough fenders and lines for a hurricane. We were right here for Matthew and Irma, No Damage! The steps are portable and we carry them on top of the sundeck when cruising.

New zincs, sea cocks and bottom paint

Huckin's boatyard Jan 2017

Huckins did $6k worth of service to boat in 2014-15, 2016-17. We have the invoices for your records.

We have experienced awesome adventures on "The Office" since 2011

This blog has a record of our journey. Everything, warts and all the events, expenses, breakdowns and fun.
We are offering to sell our 1986 Marine Trader. Regretfully we both have arthritis problems with joint repairs and not getting better with our gym exercises.

We looked at over 50 trawlers in our search seven yrs ago. We had lived aboard a sailboat and were ready for more room and comfort. We hired a surveyor to work for us. We never trusted the brokers or sellers. Some might have been honest we think, but some were down right crooked. We searched yacht world and boat trader, craigslist and walked docks looking and talking to owners. The surveyor saved our rears several times. We would go to a boat, drive across the state to see this jewel of the ocean and discover the deck is rotten or the spine of the keel is cracked. Or stinks of cat pee or cigarette smoke, after the broker/owner says it is "Bristol" We had engines go out on the sea trial. AC units disappear along with gen sets. Our surveyor would look at videos and pictures. Give advice on what to look for on a certain boat

Listing includes a lot of nice gear. Watermaker we never used. A Nice radar set up and two station VHF with back up a separate system. Cameras watch our towed skiff and engine room.  Our hard top we love because the solar panels and all keep the fly bridge cool in hot summer sun. Dropping the radar arch down, it has pins. Leave the hardtop up, the bridge clearance is 17 ft. Radar up is 21 ft

Last haulout was Jan 2017 @ Huckins. New zincs, bottom paint new thru hull seacocks.
Our solar set up with 8 group 31 AGM (new 2016-17) batteries and 3000-watt inverter allow us to hang out on the hook for weeks at a time. The 2 new Webasto 16000RC AC with humidifier and heat settings are low amp users but the inverter will run one at a time! but we need more battery for the use to be practical.  Most anchorages we have are in a breeze zone and we make do with screens for the bugs without the AC. We have 12vdc fans in both cabins.

Murphy's Island free dock on St. John's River 2015

Our asking price is @ $56,900.00 Reduced to $34900. See listing YachtBroker  The survey valuation for insurance was $78,500. The condition is rated "Fair" Anything will sell at the right price. Please make us an offer. We are not equipped to take a note or owner finance. We are looking for a smaller (27-34 ft, single level, 12 ft bridge clearance, 3 ft draft)  single engine diesel for runs down to the Keys and short overnights. We might be open to a trade if possible. Essex credit has loans for older boats and liva boards. With 20% down they will like this boat with a recent out of the water survey, full insurance with Geico and in a known hurricane hole. We have a lease on the slip at Ortega until Jan 2018. We will let that go with the boat. You will have to make the arrangements with the marina.

A copy of the survey for new insurance in Florida done in Jan 2017 is available for you on request.
Any picture can be viewed on google photo album. New pictures added!
We replaced the engine and house bank batteries with Group 31 AGMs in 2017. Rebuilt the Alternators, starters and gen set electrical side in 2015. The engines have 1540 hours, the Gen Set has 550 hours. We service the engines and fuel filters more than needed. A case of each filter is kept on the boat.
Two LP tanks and safety solenoid
Deck locker Fwd deck port side
Deck locker on Starboard side fwd deck.
All CG safety equipment and more than required. A smoke alarm in each living space, engine room, electrical cabinet, two first aid kit one offshore. Fire extinguishers in each living space. CO monitor in ER. Set of new life jackets. Flares, horn, plus dual ships horn wired to high water alarm.

Jean enjoys driving from fly bridge, We don't like the inside helm. Too confining. We only travel in good weather, except when we don't.  The hard top and shadow of solar panels. 3 X 245 watt. Mornigstar controller. We run all the 12VDC on the boat to save on the slip power bill.

You can give me a call if interested. We have nothing to hide. The boat is Coast Guard documented. insured with Gieco Full value $1690 per yr.

We tow an 18 ft CC fishing boat. That does not go in our selling of big boat. The dink lift windlass is new and will pick up most inflatables up to 500# We reinforced it to carry more weight and used it to carry a 11 ft Boston Whaler with 20hp engine. We sold the whaler in 2014.

Our trawler in the 50 ft and over dock at Ortega River. The Marina at Ortega Landing. Jax.  We have the slip until Jan 2018, all overhead runs about $950 a month here at OLM.

Dot the doxie looks in on us at the fwd window open for the breeze.

All new zincs and bottom paint Jan 2017
Huckins has done the last two yard visits for bottom paint, new zincs and install two new seacocks.
A full-out of the water survey was done in Jan 2017 for our insurance update.
An out of the water survey runs around $750. including haul out.

Many features and benefits of a 40 ft trawler are the big sundeck as a living space.  I enjoy napping on the sundeck couch when there is room.
