All bundled up for the cold. Jean likes to drive. Suzsea has dolphin watch. Cumberland Island is ahead on ICW
Adventure! That one word that can awaken me from sleep with renewed interest in today. We left our homeport of Jekyll Island for directions South on February the 21st. We liked our short visit to Palatka on the St John's river and wanted to explore. Saying good bye to all our good friends at Jekyll we made plans to return someday. Plans are for God's laughter. He loves a good joke. There is no such thing as luck, You make your own. There is only now. You either go now or you gamble on the losing side on time. There will never be enough money and it is way over rated. Hope is not a plan. Go now or wait as time slips like the tide. As Jimmy  Buffet sings " Days precious days
Roll in and out like waves" in Boats To Build.

Suzsea barks at the dolphins and they ignore her .
We are towing our 18 ft CC fishing boat and after getting the rope and distance set we are happy with it towing.

Traveling to new experiences is a depression reliever for me. Even a wonderful place like Jekyll gets to be too much and mundane after 4 years this time around. We had gone South last winter to Marathon but this year wanted less and hope to find it on the river. A visit to Palatka and a week there convince us to see more of the river and now after several days we are wanting more of the river. Getting away from the muddy ICW and the hustle of Jacksonville we find the river to be amazing in it's natural beauty.  The river past Palatka is more like the Amazon than a American River in my mind. We see alligators, deer, wild turkeys and thousands of shore birds.  more later.

Your writing is calming to me Sonny. It takes me back to the afternoon on the bay in Charleston. Miss you man!
