Way down/Up the St. John's River

We had a few days to visit to the South on the St. John's River after the excellent service on our boat at Huckins. With our new blue bottom we went South down the river that flows North in the middle of Florida. We will come back to this special river.
Huckins splashed our boat on Friday as promised!  See previous post for details.
View from the parking area @ Boathouse Marina

Sunset from the dock @ BHM

The dock is narrow compared to some

The owners made us feel right at home. Skip and Marlene helped us tie up and get settled.

One of the boats across from us at the dock

Slip #9 and a few others were open.

The facedock is covered and has good tie up and a table for watching sunsets

Walked around the residential area and felt we were in Old Florida. Clean walkways and nice old houses

The historic district has many 1800s and early 1900s homes that are restored

Electricity is metered for longer stays. Our two nights were $5 each a very reasonable cost along with $1.00 per ft

docks are old but in good repair and safe

The water is brack and growth is minimal. Depths were over 12 ft and little tide change

Liva boards allowed for $100 fee. None were there at the time

  2. I just love reading your blog Sonny. The story flows well and the photos are well taken and placed in the story.

The shipyard has always been a part of my life...its hard to keep away from the docks.

I hope you both are well.
