Sunrise on Pine Island Sound

We went out early at sunrise and caught pinfish with cast net.

Caught a few bait fish

Worked this red out from under the mangroves off the canal.

He was right under the mangrove in center of this picture. Took 20 mins to get him to take the pinfish on a popper and #4 circle hook. 20 # test fluro leader and 30# braid on a 3500 penn reel. 

Jean netted the fish after a good fight in 3-4 ft water. We were less than a 1/2 mile from our dock back in the mangroves on a kayak trail with rising tide.
